The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is expanding the online portfolio with Noodle to include master's degrees in public health

"Public health affects all of our lives," says Thankam S. Sunil, chair of the Department of Health. "Earning an online Master of Public Health will give students the tools to advance science-based solutions to address many of the most pressing concerns of today and tomorrow locally and globally. The MPH online is designed for people from a variety of backgrounds who wish to obtain a degree that can be used to improve lives and build healthy communities. "

"We share a passion and commitment to improving the health and well-being of diverse communities by preparing tomorrow's workforce," says MPH program director Kathy Brown . "Public health is everywhere, and by going online, we now have the opportunity to bring the excellence of UT MPH to those who cannot come to us."

The MPH joins the newly announced Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Programs with a concentration in Applied Studies, a suite of online degrees at Haslam College of Business, and also future online graduate programs. UT continues to provide its recognized educational opportunities to adult students for whom it is not feasible to attend classes on campus.

"The need for and interest in public health has exploded during the pandemic," says Noodle CEO John Katzman . University of Tennessee, Knoxville Chancellor Where Plowman recently shared his vision for the future and promised that the state's flagship university would be an "institution of courage – to take risks, care and lead ". Plowman cited the University's response to COVID-19: move 300,000 credit hours online just days in advance.
