Second Michigan University that adds sports and needs a coach

Davenport University announced Wednesday that it is adding esports (competitive video games) to its athletic program next fall.

Davenport is the second university in Michigan to offer sports, joining Siena Heights.

"Esports is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and we feel that it not only fits our sports programming, but also aligns well with our academic offerings," said Paul Lowden, executive director of Daleport Intercollegiate Athletics,

Sports most often include video games related to real-time strategy, first person game, wrestling and arenas Multiplayer online combat. The popular games for sports are Fortnite, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty, Hearthstone and Overwatch.
