Frat suspended after the comment of 'Rape Some B ***** s Caught On Tape

The University of Central Florida has suspended its Sigma Nu fraternity and will seek a Title IX investigation into a recording in that several members are heard to sing about rape and promote sexual assault.

Multiple members of the Sigma Nu fraternity can be heard making graphic and disturbing comments, such as "we are going to rape some bitches", "we are raping some bitches" and "we are going to rape them, who cares". Knight News obtained the uncensored video of the June 9 incident from a source close to the investigation.

A woman who is not a UCF student made the recording after spending some time in the fraternity department off campus with her then boyfriend, a member of Sigma Nu, according to an UCF incident report obtained by The Huffington Post. The woman then handed the tape to a student at UCF, who filed a complaint with the university.

"She sent me the videos because I felt they could help me," the plaintiff said in the incident report.

As a result of the video, the fraternity was notified of its provisional suspension related to sexual misconduct charges on July 20, according to a letter the university's Office of Student Conduct shared with HuffPost. Sigma Nu will remain in suspension until at least a student conduct hearing scheduled for August 20, the university said in a separate letter.

According to the information in the UCF student handbook, individual students involved in the video may face a punishment ranging from writing a research paper to expulsion if found to be in violation of school policy. If it is discovered that the Sigma Nu chapter is in violation, the school may impose sanctions, prohibit the fraternity of official campus life, or even suggest that the national office of Sigma Nu revoke the chapter charter, effectively dissolving it.

The national fraternity is investigating the recordings, Sigma Nu executive director Brad Beacham said in a statement Friday:

Earlier this year, a woman filed a complaint alleging that She had been raped at the house of the Sigma Nu fraternity of UCF last October, according to Knight News. The school found the student guilty of sexual misconduct and suspended him for one year. In April, he passed the investigation to the state attorney's office.
