WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY) Wilkes University is canceling its ceremony winter graduation scheduled for Sunday, January 20, due to a large winter storm that is expected to affect the region.
Students who graduated from the ceremony are invited to participate in the spring graduation ceremony of the University to be held on Saturday, May 18.
The winter storm alerts issued by the National Weather Service indicate that the conditions will be too treacherous for graduates and their families to travel to the campus for the Sunday ceremony.
The University will mail the diplomas and copies of the graduation program to graduates in January before the first week of February. For more information about the cancellation, visit www.wilkes.edu/commencement.
