University of Colorado controls closure effects on campus

BOULDER, Colorado. (AP) – Officials at the University of Colorado are monitoring the effects of the government's partial closure at the university where most of the research funds come from the federal government.

The Daily Camera

reports

The university received approximately $ 369 million, or 72 percent , from its federal government research funds last year.

Terri Fiez, vice president of research and innovation at the university, says graduate students working on joint programs with federal laboratories are among those affected, as well as researchers funded through federal grants.

Fiez says that officials will do everything in their power to address the deficiencies, but the university does not have much discretionary money to work.
