LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Three Michigan universities are positioning themselves against the opioid crisis of the states.
The University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Wayne State University are partnering with Spectrum Health.
They are working on training more doctors as specialists in addiction medicine.
Officials say there are less than 200 doctors specially trained to fight the crisis
They say the number of opioid-related deaths is at an all-time high
Federal and state sources have awarded the program a $ 1,500,000 grant for two years.
