La Trobe University has submitted plans to build a private hospital, a primary care clinic, childcare centers and senior citizens on its campus Main Bundoora in North Melbourne.
The university is seeking partners to build and operate a new $ 400 million health center that will be located on a 3.55-hectare site owned by the university near the north entrance of the campus.
"The services could include a sub-acute hospital, primary medical care and clinical services, as well as an expanded space for elderly care, rehabilitation, prosthetics, nursing and psychology, said university vice president Natalie MacDonald.
"There is also a need for additional care capacity in the region," he said.
