LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS) – The following is a press release from the Lubbock Christian University:
Lubbock Christian University is ready to host Alumni for the last sixty years this weekend, from February 7 to 10.
This year's festivities will stand out more than just ortho-affinity groups, showing the tremendous amount of student participation that the LCU has to this day.
"We always look forward to welcoming our LCU family members back to the campus for the return home, this year is no exception as our campus continues to change and grow and our students excel in undergraduate and athletic research, it's the perfect time to reconnect with other Chaps and re-engage with the LCU experience, "said Sheila Dye, vice president of alumni relations.
Another very important celebration is a charity dinner scheduled for Saturday night in honor of the Legends of Music of the LCU. Two beloved choir directors served in the university for decades, working together and touring with their respective regional, national and international choirs. Dr. Wayne Hinds conducted the Acappella Choir from 1957 until his retirement in 1997, and Charles Cox conducted the Meistersinger Choir from 1961 until his retirement in 1995. This dinner is to honor his memory and reveal exciting plans for the facilities that house the Music Department of the LCU.
The weekend back home from the LCU has several traditions and events, which allows students, students, teachers, staff and friends to have many opportunities to participate.
