This was not the kind of drama that college football needed in the first play of one of his opening games of the season on Thursday.
University of Central Florida defensive back Aaron Robinson remained motionless on the field after he appeared to collide head-on with a teammate when he hit the UConn returnee, Keyion Dixon, on the kickoff in East Harford, Connecticut. according to reports.

Doctors worked on it for about nine minutes, The Associated Press reported.
Robinson was cut off from his shoulder pads while his teammates prayed near him, the cable service said. He was taken from the field on a stretcher. Robinson appeared conscious and gave a thumbs up.

The radio stations said at one point that Robinson was moving his legs, noted For The Win.
He was reportedly hospitalized overnight in the vicinity.
"It will be fine," coach Josh Heupel said, according to Sports Illustrated. "He's going to stay up all night, they'll watch him and make sure he's okay."
