Rutgers University has announced that the Employees who are not yet vaccinated against COVID-19 have until December 8 to get vaccinated and comply with a federal mandate.
University officials said Monday that only about 10% of staff are not vaccinated, but if those employees are not vaccinated by the deadline, they will be penalized and potentially fired.
NJ.com reports that the university is following President Joe Biden's executive order requiring all federal workers to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
The university will allow employees to apply for medical and religious exemptions before November 8.
