The body of a 21 year old woman recovered from the White River the Friday night, San Marcos officials said Saturday.
The woman has been preliminarily identified as Kate Rose Silva Xavier, a student at Texas State University, according to a press release. Xavier had been missing since October 25.

San Marcos police received a call around 5:30 p.m. Friday of a worried hiker reporting a possible body on the river near the 1400 block of River Road. The San Marcos Fire Department helped the police recover the body, which was later confirmed as the missing student.
Xavier's death is being investigated as a suicide, and the investigation is ongoing, officials said.
