Man arrested after shooting an AK-47 into the air near Temple University campus, sources say – CBS Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man who fired an AK-47 into the air near the main campus of Temple University has been detained, police sources told Eyewitness News. It happened at the intersection of Broad and Norris streets in North Philadelphia on Thursday night

A photo sent to Eyewitness News shows a man standing outside a car window with a large pistol that appears to be an AK-47 in his hand.

According to a Temple University spokesperson, Temple police located the suspect after hear the shots and watch the suspects drive down Norris Street under surveillance.

The suspect was arrested shortly thereafter.

The charges against the man are pending.

No one was injured during the incident.
