That is why he enrolled in the MSc Applied Sports Coaching . “Getting the science behind coaching has been a real eye-opener for me and the program has already exceeded all expectations,” he testifies.
Despite initial apprehension due to his years outside of formal education, Crawford has adjusted very well to the program since it began in September 2020. “I quickly became comfortable with the open door policy that leaders encourage. All questions and inquiries are answered promptly, so you are never in a position of uncertainty, ”he shares.

Rugby coach Greig Oliver from Scotland decided on the Master of Sport Psychology, Exercise and Performance after considering training courses, sports science and sports performance from around the world. “With coaching experience, the program included a significant amount of practical application; this applied element was the significant difference with other courses that I had seen ”, he says. "Each semester yielded practical ideas, allowing us to analyze, make adjustments, reaffirm and present on many topics that were useful in daily practice."
Oliver found a truly rewarding learning experience at the University of Limerick in 2019. For many athletes, exploring various sports science paths comes naturally after hanging up your boots. Take the former player from Munster Rugby Cathal Sheridan, who enrolled in the
MSc Sports Performance to unleash the next chapter in his career. distinction, he has been exploring a career as a sports psychologist with his former team.
“I gained a wide variety of knowledge, including how to monitor and measure performance parameters for different athletes with specific demands from l sport. This allows me to develop science-based interventions for both individuals and teams, ”he shares. "The opportunity to take on a job was also an invaluable experience for me when I started working for a professional rugby organization in Ireland."
It is the same program that allowed graduate Vivek Plakkoke to explore all aspects of sports science in a high-performance environment. “The holistic composition of the program is similar to that of a sports science team that would provide its services to improve athletic performance,” he says.
