Human Resources Announces Two Free Certificate Programs

The certification programs offered by the university's Human Resources Employee Development Team are free and designed to provide the flexibility to meet your job demand . Classes can be taken out of order and over multiple semesters. Once all course work is completed, a certificate will be issued. The programs are designed to hone current skills or learn new ones to advance your career and make you an invaluable part of our organization. The human resources team has assembled subject matter experts to facilitate the classes and provide you with the resources you need for the future. All classes will be held through Blackboard and Zoom.

Supervisor Development Certificate Program

Starting in February, this program is designed to help employees improve their supervisory skills, including: their role as a supervisor, the best hiring, onboarding new hires, communication skills, employee engagement, multi-generational supervision, time management, FLSA, FMLA, effective performance training, writing and evaluation, campus violence prevention , conflict resolution, complaint process, discipline and dismissal, and legal aspects of supervision. There are 8 classes in total. Registration of all 8 classes is required. Access to the course, all related materials, and Zoom links are through Blackboard and will be available at the beginning of each week. Professional Development Certificate Program

Beginning in February, this program is designed to help an employee improve their basic professional skills, including: writing a resume and letter of quality presentation, presenting yourself professionally, interviewing, communicating effectively, building a positive relationship with your boss, creating and delivering a presentation, emotional intelligence, stress management and conflict resolution. There are 7 classes in total. Registration of all 7 classes is required. Access to the course, all related materials, and Zoom links are through Blackboard and will be available at the beginning of each week.
