Fordham University launches a program for au pairs

Fordham University has launched a new program specifically for au pairs.

The courses will be offered through the School of Professional and Continuous Studies of the university and will allow participants to obtain up to 40 hours of class. Classes are offered as weekend intensive courses of one or two days or as night classes. The university will also offer a discount rate to au pairs from recognized agencies.

According to the university, Westchester is home to hundreds of au pairs from around the world authorized by the US Office of Educational and Cultural Affairs. UU As part of their visa, au pairs must complete the equivalent of six credit hours at an accredited institution of postsecondary education in the United States.

"The post-secondary credit requirement can be problematic for many au pairs because of the cost of instruction," said Anthony R. Davidson, dean of the Fordham School of Professional and Continuing Studies. "We are pleased to expand our offerings to benefit these hardworking people so they can continue to gain knowledge and experience in a field that serves our county well."

The next September classes include an introduction to social media marketing and a class focused on understanding consumer behavior.
