DURHAM, N.C. – No. 9 Miami used 524 yards of total offense to defeat Duke, 48-0, Saturday night at Brooks Field in Wallace Wade Stadium.

The Blue Devils fall to 2 -8 overall and 1-8 in ACC play, while Miami improves to 8-1 and 7-1, respectively.

Duke's nationally ranked opponent jumped to a 14-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Saturday's loss was the first time the Blue Devils were eliminated in a contest since October 4, 2008 when they lost a 27-0 decision at Georgia Tech.

Seventeen of Miami's points were scored on Duke turnovers while the Blue Devils were still plagued with gifts, finishing the game with five.

Redshirt junior quarterback Chase Brice finished his night with 20 of 25 for 94 yards. The Grayson, Georgia native started the competition with an impressive 13-for-17, but the Blue Devils couldn't find the end zone. Duke also saw action from second-year red jersey quarterback Gunnar Holmberg who hit five of six for 27 yards and an interception.

Junior running back Mataeo Durant led the rushing contingent with 49 yards on 10 attempts. Senior running back Deon Jackson contributed nine carries for 21 yards.

Junior wide receiver Jake Bobo recorded team-best 36 yards on five receptions. Sophomores Eli Pancol and Jalon Calhoun added 22 and 21 receiving yards, respectively.

Senior defensive end Victor Dimukeje finished with a maximum of 10 tackles in the first double-digit tackling game of his career. Marquis Waters Jeremiah Lewis and Shaka Heyward all won seven tackles each for help the Duke overall.

On special teams, the first-year player in the red jersey Porter Wilson kicked the ball seven times for 312 yards for an average of 44 , 6.

Duke travels to Florida State next Saturday for his final regular season contest. Game details for the showdown have yet to be determined.
