COVID-19 Reinforcement Mandate: Student Services

In an ongoing effort to keep our campus and our community safe, Montclair State University will require that all students receive their COVID-19 booster. All eligible students must upload proof of their booster to the MyHealth portal before the deadline of Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

Details on a booster mandate are being finalized for the faculty and staff of the University, but we wanted to pass this information on as soon as possible so that you can get your reinforcement before the beginning of the spring semester.

Everyone wins when we get our reinforcement! By getting your booster, you are helping to keep our campus safe. Upload your booster before the early registration deadline on Tuesday, February 15, and be part of the drawing for the following prizes:

  • One $ 5,000 Winner
  • Two $ 2500 Winners
  • Five $ 1,000 Winners

The names of the winners will be known and announced on Friday, February 25 .

In addition, all students Exempt individuals who are required to take weekly exams and meet that expectation (no missed weekly exams between Tuesday, January 18 and Sunday, May 1), will be placed in a separate drawing at the end of the spring semester. For a chance to win a $ 500.00 gift card! More details to come.

Eligibility for a Booster

The vaccine you received for your initial vaccination determines when you are eligible to receive a booster:

  • Johnson & Johnson: 18 years or older and at least two (2) months after their single dose.
  • Modern: 18 years or older and at least five (5) months after your second dose.
  • Pfizer: 12 years or older and at least five (5) months after your second dose.

Students Eligible individuals who do not submit their backup information to MyHealth portal before the deadline of Tuesday, March 1 will be subject to weekly testing and other college restrictions.

International students who were vaccinated outside of the US with a WHO-approved vaccine are not recommended to receive a booster shot, at this time, but if they are entering University this spring they must still upload their vaccination information to your Portal Mi Salud .

Please note: If you have completed isolation for a COVID-19 infection, you are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster , You don't need to wait! However, if you received monoclonal antibody treatment, you must wait at least 90 days before receiving a booster vaccine against COVID-19. View CDC information
