Calvin College in Grand Rapids will become Calvin University

GRAND RAPIDS – Calvin College will change its name to Calvin University in 2020, a century after it became a university of four years.

The private liberal arts school in Grand Rapids has 3,800 students and is affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church.

The school said on Tuesday that the name change is being made in part to attract international students who are more familiar with the "university" than the university. "

Tuition will cost about $ 35,000 during the next school year , although Calvin says that 99 percent of students receive financial aid.

Alumni includes US Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.
